Get Your Kicks on Route 66: A Homecoming Concert

What better way to welcome our winter visitors back than with music that celebrates the places we all call home? On Sunday, November 15, at 2:00 PM in the Sanctuary, the Performing Arts Committee will present “Get Your Kicks on Route 66,” performed by our Sanctuary Choir.

In honor of our nation’s 250th anniversary, the choir and featured soloists will take us on a musical journey through the states, cities, rivers, and memorable places that are part of our stories, including stops along America’s iconic Route 66. The program will feature favorites such as “Meet Me in St. Louis,” “Oklahoma,” “Deep in the Heart of Texas,” “I Love You, Arizona,” “California Dreamin’,” “Tennessee Waltz,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “O Shenandoah,” “New York, New York,” “God Bless the USA,” and “God Bless America.”

Close out our Homecoming celebration with an afternoon of music, memories, and friendship at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church. A freewill offering will be accepted.
